Maggie Grace and Maggie Gyllenhaal

Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig September. 21 in 1983) is a well-known American actor. Most notably, she appeared as Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost television show, and Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. The couple had separated and she relocated with her mother to Los Angeles. She was struggling to get by at the time she landed her first part in the acting world as Rachel's Room's main character. She went on to earn an Young Artist Award nomination in 2002, for her role as fifteen-year-old victim Martha Moxley in the television film Murder which aired in Greenwich. Grace played Shannon Rutherford on the Lost TV show in 2004. The show featured her as the principal role for two seasons, and also won a Screen Actors Guild Award. After leaving the show, Grace was keen to work more prominently in film having starred opposite Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. She was in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in both 2007 as well as Taken (2008) alongside Liam Neeson. She reprised this role in Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). She also played Alice on Malice in Wonderland which is a modern adaptation of the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to the character of Shannon in two episodes of Lost as well as the show's finale. Grace appeared in Californication's 6th season, which aired between 2013 and 2014. She is Faith, a groupie who serves as a model for celebrities and attracts the eye of Hank Moody (David Duchovny). Part of the Gyllenhaal family, she is the child of filmmakers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs and the older sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. In her teens her career began as a small part-time actress for her father. She also appeared in Donnie Darko along with her twin brother. She appeared next in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind both in 2002 and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received critical praise for her leading roles in Secretary (2002 an erotic romantic drama) as well as Sherrybaby (606), both of which garnered her Golden Globe Award nods. The Dark Knight, which was released in 2008 after several highly successful films including World Trade Center (2006) which brought her greater recognition, was a huge success for Gyllenhaal. After her successful performance as a single mother in Crazy Heart (2009), she earned the Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She subsequently starred in the comedy and dramas Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and The Won't Back Down (2012). In addition to her role as a Secret Service agent, she also appeared in White House Down (2013) and Frank (2014). Her latest roles included as the main character The Kindergarten Teacher The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). In 2021 Gyllenhaal made her writing and directing debut with the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter for which she won The Lost Daughter the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
